At the state Beta convention, the Mt Airy Elementary Engineering Team, under the leadership of Mr. Jim Wertz, won first place. The Performing Arts Team, under the leadership of Ms. Kelli Hess won second place. Three students won individual awards: Blair Saunders for Color Photography, Lexi Waller for Language Arts, and Wesley Bell for Science. All of these Mt Airy students will be traveling to Louisville, KY this summer to compete at the National Beta Convention.
